Description of Hub and header laterals:
Hub and header laterals can be designed for disc head vessels enabling the system to collect completely to the bottom of the vessel. Header Lateral designs are typical for flat bottom vessel distributor or collector applications. System designs can accommodate side, center, top or bottom inlet piping. Integral backwash systems can be designed for any hub and header lateral for fast effective and efficient cleaning. Inlet/outlet piping of the laterals can be flanged or threaded. All systems are designed for effective liquid or solid retention in a wide range of applications including exchangers, clay and sand filtration applications, carbon towers and power plants with water systems. AMISTCO designs each system to provide equal distribution or collection to avoid flow/pressure concentrations.
A wide range of 0.002 to 1.0-slot size wedge wire screen hub and header laterals are available for a variety of process and water or waste applications. Each provides equal distribution or collection to avoid flow/pressure concentrations.

In comparison with wire mesh and perforated metal, wedge wire continuous slot screens have more open area, have very precise openings, are stronger and more durable, are virtually non-clogging and reduce media abrasion. Wire mesh and perforated pipe may be less expensive initially, but wedge wire screens offer easier installation and long-term operating and cost benefits.
Wedge wire screens have maximum design flexibility, can be constructed in a wide variety of shapes and sizes from a variety of corrosion resistant alloys such as type 304, 316, 316L, 321, and 410S stainless steels, as well as nickel alloys such as C-276. Any process or vessel requirements can be accommodated, such as vertical or horizontal vessels
